Wojciech* Michał Barczyński is a PhD candidate at SAP Research Dresden (mentored by Dr. Adrian Mocan) where he is a member of Business Intelligence Practise. He started his PhD at Hasso-Plattner-Institut in Potsdam (supervised by Prof. Felix Naumann), in the field of Unstructured Data Management with the focus on providing “explain why” for Information Extraction systems. His interests are: Information Extraction, Semantic Technologies, Data Mining, and application of these technologies in the context of Business Intelligence. Since 2010, he works in FP7 ROBUST project – a large European project — which target is to develop methods to understand and manage the business, social, and economic objectives of the users, providers and hosts and to meet the challenges of scale and growth in large online communities. Within the project he works on SAP use cases and on modeling of online communities, and simulation of its development. Wojciech received M. Sc. (polish “mgr inż.”) in computer science in 2006 from the Wroclaw University of Technology on Electronic Faculty with specialization in Data Processing Engineering.
